In this Botanical scene a bee made from Black Walnut, Mulberry, Hickory, and Ebony woods, lands on a Purple-Headed Coneflower with petals carved from Purple-Heart wood and the seed head lid, and the container below it, turned, cut, and carved from a single piece of Mulberry wood. It could actually be used as a functional container. This piece is in a private collection. To commission a similar work would be $900 – $1200, depending on size and complexity.
